The sponsorship of the men’s and women’s senior and junior Indian hockey teams will now be extended by the state of Odisha for a further ten years, from 2023 to 2033.

 This major disease was taken at the Cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik. On that same day, the cabinet approved 15 other proposals, which various government departments submitted.

 The State of Odisha has already been the official sponsor of both the women’s National Hockey and men’s National Hockey teams since 2018. This major support will be a significant step in the growth and development of hockey in our country, as stated by chief secretary PK Jena in that Cabinet meeting.

 The Odisha Mining Corporation Limited (OMC)  earlier also agreed with Hockey India after the government approval was still due for the sponsorships of the Indian hockey teams women, men, seniors, and juniors for about five years from 2018 to the year 2023.

 Is a request made by Hockey India’s president to extend this agreement? Based on this request OMC Limited Had worked out the approval from the cabinet. PK Jena Also stated that onc had been committed to sponsoring both hockey teams until January 31, 2023. OMC will be releasing an amount of Rs  434.12 crores which will exclude the applicable taxes towards Hockey India during this period.

Another major decision the cabinet took was the extension of the Biju Setu Yojana (BS Y) Tell from 2025 to 2026. It will also consist of an additional outlet of INR  3,597.22 crores. The state government is responsible for the launch of this scheme in the year 2011 – 2012. The main objective of this scheme was to bridge all the missing links on the roads for the rural development department.

 In the year 2021 – 2022, the scheme was approved, and it was to be implemented for three years from 2021 – 2022 to 2023 – 2024, which comes within the outlet of INR 5,182.0 crores as it was required for the execution of 946 bridges which included 396 ongoing bridges and 550 new bridges.

Taking into account how much the bridges are necessary for the rural areas as they will improve the socio-economic conditions and Communication of the people who reside in these rural areas and also play some major part in the public interest of These areas, cabinet health also approved to take up some new 866 bridges which will be added to the completion of the ongoing bridges as there will be an additional outlet of INR 3,597.22 crores.

Another major decision the state government took was the implementation of the Central Scheme Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme, Which will help improve the reliability and quality of the power supply and reduce AT and C loss. 

Under this scheme, an amount of rupee 428 crores will be provided to smart meetings and amount of rupees 4248 crores will be going towards disaster region infrastructure, and an amount of rupees 1,509  crores will be going towards the system stringing and the execution of the project will take about three years, and the project will be completed by the year of 2026
