Anurag Kashyap directed “Almost Pyar with DJ Mohabbat” released early this year. The movie is a Hindi language romantic musical drama starring Alya F and newcomer Karan Mehta. Despite the praise, the movie couldn’t perform well at the box office.
The director Anurag Kashyap decided to open up on his idea of making a romantic movie instead of gritty and dark films for which he is known in the industry. In an interview he revealed that he doesn’t do something that he doesn’t like, everything he has done out of his will to do. And he further said many things have happened in between including lockdown.
The director added I worked a lot on other people’s scripts. And, the one that I wrote was Almost Pyar With DJ Mohabbat, which was an idea that originated out of nowhere but I wanted to explore that because I was bored of people expecting a gangster movie every time. And he further said, unless you get something new and exciting that happens why would I do it?
