On May 9, 2003, Ken Ghosh’s Ishq Vishk first came to cinemas. It was a hit film, credit to the young star cast and the phenomenal songs that went hit. The movie was produced by a prominent movie company, Tips Movies. The movie was also the debut movie of actor Shahid Kapoor.
This Tuesday, the movie completed 20 years of its release. On this occasion, the actress and lead role player of the film, Amrita Rao, shared how she was to act in the movie. She said that Tips sent her a bouquet and cake for her to agree to act in the film.

She shared that after she agreed, Ishq Vishk was supposed to be her debut movie. However, the search for the lead actor opposite Amrita Rao took more time than estimated. Till the lead actor was finalized, she made her debut and did a few films such as ‘Ab Ke Baras’ and ‘The Legend of Bhagat Singh’.
Artists such as herself, Shahid Kapoor, Shenaz Treasury, Yash Tonk, Satish Shah, Neelima Azeem, and Vishal Malhotra starred in the musical and made it epic. The musical movie became a breakthrough project for many artists involved in the film. The movie made a great impact on the career of the lead actors, Shahid and Amrita.

The actress, in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, told how she was scouted by the makers and how she became Payal of Ishq Vishk.
- Amrita took Park in a Cadbury perk ad with the theme of Karwa Chauth theme.
- Ken Ghosh, director of the film, spotted her in the ad and instantly liked it. He took the ad and went to Tips Film to show it to Mr. Kumar Taurani and Ramesh Taurani.
- Amrita was in school when she first received the offer. She declined the offer as she, at that time, did not want to make a debut in any film.
- Tips at that time came to her home with a bouquet and cake. They tried to convince her to act in the movie. She told her that they will turn her into a star. Their talks were backed by a promising contract, and thus she agreed to be in the movie.
- The actor said that what happened after was history. We know how well the movie performed in the cinema.
The actress was last seen on the screen of theatres in the film Thackeray (2019) along with Nawazuddin Siddiqui. She currently hosts a YouTube channel with her husband, RJ Anmol.
The sequel of this movie, Ishq Vishk Rebound, is to be released this year. In this movie, Nipun Dharmadhikari makes his debut in Hindi movie. Actors such as Pashmina Roshan, Jibraan Khan, and Nailaa Grewal also star in the movie.
