Veteran actor Zeenat Aman recently shared a post on her social media account in which she mentioned how she felt humiliated after the release of Dev Anand’s autobiography. The actor revealed the truth about dating rumors with Raj Kapoor.
In 2007, Dev Anand Saab’s autobiography “Romancing With Life” was released in which he confessed his love for Zeenat Aman. Dev Anand Saab has given a brief of his love for Zeenat Aman and being jealousy of Raaj Kapoor. The actors worked together in the movie Hare Rama Hare Krishna which was released in 1971.
Zeenat Aman in her recent social media post revealed the truth about dating rumors with Raj Kapoor. The actor said she felt humiliated when Dev Anand revealed her being in a relationship with Raj Kapoor.
She added how her phone kept ringing after the release of Dev Anand’s autobiography in which he confessed his love for her and also mentioned her affair with Raj Kapoor.
She added at the time of her cinematic career, it was the time of the Golden Trio; Dev Anand Saab, Dilip Kumar, and Raj Kapoor.
She mentioned how these actors were shaping or had shaped Hindi cinema. The actor further said she was looking for big projects after a successful launch in the industry, either with or without Dev Anand.
She added she wanted to be directed by Raj Kapoor under the RK banner and she took the opportunity as soon as it arose. The actor said, her story of landing the 1978 project “Satyam Shivam Sundaram” is a well-known one. The actor mentioned how eager she was to work for Raj Kapoor’s unconventional project.
The actor said she was unaware that Dev Saab was misreading the whole scenario. She mentioned she got to know about it when Dev Saab’s autobiography was released in which he mentioned that Raj Kapoor and Zeenat Aman had more than a director-actor equation. She further added she was broken and hearted by knowing this.
She added, she was livid and felt humiliated, and hurt by knowing that the person she loved and admired platonically would not only believe such rumors but then go on to reveal it to the world.
The actor confessed that she wasn’t ready to talk about this embarrassing moment of her life for years, but now she wants to talk about it. In the end, she wrote that he is a rare talent and he has her earnest gratitude. She further wrote she will not tolerate disrespect to his name.

The actors worked together in Hare Rama Hare Krishna which was a career breakthrough for Zeenat Aman.
The movie was directed by Dev Saab himself. The actor Zeenat Aman won Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award for this film. In 1973, they again worked together in Heera Panna and again in 1974, they worked in IshkIshkIshk. The back-to-back success made this couple popular on-screen as well as off-screen.
